![]() 🎆 First Impressions VISUAL: Someone feed this child. Cole looks very scrawny and very underfed. His blonde hair covers his eyes most of the time. He has a haunted look around him and is very much all elbows and knees. FASHION: Cole has a hard time grasping the concept of 'clothing' aside from 'something you put on your body'. He'll wear whatever's around, no matter if it's dirty or if he's put it on backwards. The main exception to that 'wear whatever' rule is Cole's humongous hat, which he wears pretty much all the time and is wonderful for hiding behind, avoiding people's glances, and making icons goddamn annoying! DEMEANOR: Iron Bull described him as a "weird, squirrelly kid" and really, that's pretty apt. He's a loner, keeping to himself, keeping out of the way more than being in the middle of a crowd. He also seems to not know what tables are used for. Like a third of his cutscenes involve him sitting directly on a table, okay Cole, you do you. AURAL: Cole's voice is very breathy, very quiet. He's either calm or full of emotion, there's really no middle ground. OLFACTORY: fuck if I know, man MENTAL INFORMATION: hahahahaha. Cole's mind is a mess. He doesn't think like a normal person. Anyone who tries to read Cole's mind would find it simplistic yet odd at the same time. His thinking process is erratic and scattered, taking a series of seemingly illogical steps to find an end result. He also has the real Cole's memories floating around in his head, though those don't come up on a regular basis. MAGICAL INFORMATION: Cole radiates magic and Cole radiates weird. Anybody who can magically sense Cole would be able to pick up on the fact that he's a spirit, more specifically a spirit of compassion, but that there's weirdness stuck in there as well, a very humany sort of weirdness. He's totally not a demon, THANKS FOR THE VOTE OF CONFIDENCE, VIV. 🎆 OOC BACKTAGGING: I'll backtag until the cows come home. however, I'll prioritize plot important threads in my backtagging. FOURTHWALLING: blanket nope! PHYSICAL AFFECTION: ???? What do? PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: he's metaphorically made of glass, punch 'em out MENTAL MANIPULATION: A big fat no on this one. Cole's a spirit and there's plenty of ways for a spirit to become a demon. Some of them are if you deny a spirit it's purpose, if a spirit gains ego or ambition, if a spirit reflect human perversions of the value, or if a spirit is driven insane through outside influences. Getting possessed/brainwashed/mentally manipulated might qualify for some of these, depending on how threads play out, so again this is just a big fat NO for Cole in this regard. Likewise, he is terrified of being bound/having his thoughts fucked with/being shifted in a way that changes him past his being, all of which are something mental fuckery could easily do. RELATIONSHIPS: yes, but it would be veeeeeeeery slow burn because how do you relationship anyway, hell if Cole knows. DRAGON AGE WORLD STATE: I'm hella flexible for this with regard to memes. The only constant that I'll use is the Inquisition siding with the Templars. I'm also flexible wrt spirit or human, though I generally play Cole as more spirit. 🎆 Permissions OVERVIEW: Cole is weird. He's a odd mixture of spirit and human, a spirit of compassion who latched onto the dying body of a human mage and now is an amalgamation of both. He doesn't need to eat, might not need to sleep, and doesn't need to do any sort of other biological functions (thanks Dragon Age, I really needed a conversation where the Inquisitor briefly talks with Cole about peeing.) However, he can still be cut, he can still bleed, and he can still die in combat. He dies in combat a lot. You are so good but so fragile. CREEPY POWERS: Cole can read people's minds and memories. He seems to do this unintentionally, reacting to thoughts as if people said them out loud, though he can do it on command. There doesn't seem to be any context on the memories he picks up, just that he does. Usually, he can only read the minds of people nearby, but he has been seen reading minds at a greater distance if the plot demands it. People can block out Cole's telepathy if they have particularly strong mental blocks/willpower/whatever the fuck Solas used to get Cole out of his head. Likewise, he also has empathic powers of the same vein: Cole can read people's emotions to tell what they're thinking. CREEPY STEALTH: It's not invisibility or anything like that, it's Cole just using his weird spirit powers so that people can't see him and can't bother him unless he makes himself visible to them. Cole's a creepy motherfucker and has a tendency to just appear behind people as they talk about certain things. He can teleport into view, with a puff of smoke, but this only happens during cut-scenes. CREEPY FORGETTING: Cole has the power to make people forget he's been there and he's helped them out. He can't manipulate previously established memories or anything like that or fuck with people's heads in an inserting memories sort of way, he just makes people forget him. How this usually plays out is that Cole offers some words of encouragement, spurring people to act on them, while having them forget he was ever there. Occasionally, he can make people forget full conversations—but only if they're recent and only if they involve him. There is some residual effect: people know that they've forgotten something and could find Cole's name or face familiar. There are a few people who, even if he tried, Cole couldn't make them forget him, most notably the Inquisitor. PERMISSIONS: |
